BUEA, CAMEROON — [04/07/2025]-This April, the heartbeat of African cinema will once again echo from the slopes of Mount Cameroon as the 9th Annual Cameroon International Film Festival (CAMIFF) makes its much-anticipated return. From April 21 to 26, 2025, the charming town of Buea will transform into a vibrant hub of storytelling, talent, and cross-cultural celebration.
What began nearly a decade ago as a passionate dream to spotlight Cameroonian cinema on the global stage has grown into one of Africa’s most exciting film festivals—welcoming both established and emerging filmmakers from around the world. CAMIFF isn’t just a festival—it’s a movement. A meeting point where art, identity, and innovation intersect.

The 9th Annual Cameroon International Film Festival (CAMIFF) will kick off with an exciting lineup, starting with the highly anticipated opening film, Conversations in Transit, featuring an impressive cast including Richard Mofe Damijo, Osas Ighodaro, Rahama Sadau, and Alexx Ekubo. This thought-provoking film will set the stage for a week of cinematic brilliance.
Throughout the festival, industry professionals will host a range of enriching workshops, including a session on Film and Business led by Bob Ekukole, the former Director of Programs at Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV). Aspiring actors can hone their craft with Acting Masterclasses from industry experts like Anurin Nwunembom, while script writing sessions will be delivered by talented writers such as Proxy Buh Melvin and Nkanya Nkwai. Directorial insights will be shared by acclaimed filmmakers including Jehu Jacob Mbautiere and Musing Derick. The festivities continue with an All-White Party, Mask Gala, and a Cultural Night, providing a blend of elegance, celebration, and tradition. The opening night and throughout the event, the charismatic Baba Wakiz will serve as the host, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
